Introduction:
Three years have passed quickly, and Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Anne Hudgens), who went through many ups and downs in the first two films, now face the situation of going their separate ways. Although both hope to continue attending the same university and preserve their relationship, there are significant differences between their families and personal aspirations on this matter. Troy is willing to compromise for Gabriella, but Gabriella believes that academics should come first and they shouldn't let their feelings get in the way of each other's futures. Because of this, the two occasionally argue.
Despite the arguments, time waits for no one. With graduation approaching, both realize that it may be difficult to maintain their relationship in the future. Troy recalls how their bond began with a school singing competition, so he asks Gabriella to rehearse one last musical with him, hoping to give their relationship a perfect conclusion. Gabriella agrees happily, and while practicing for the musical, they encounter numerous amusing situations. Beyond the laughter, Troy and Gabriella also begin to re-examine their relationship.
The final basketball championship at East High begins, and Troy prepares seriously while Gabriella cheers him on as a cheerleader. At the graduation dance, the two hold hands again, performing a beautiful and stunning dance. The hard-practiced musical finally premieres, and during the performance, Troy and Gabriella reaffirm their commitment to each other. Outside the play, Troy and Gabriella also realize that nothing is more important than being together and growing old with each other. Thus, Troy makes the most important decision of his life...
