Introduction:
The story takes place on the eve of Christmas, in a little-known Mohawk community located between New York and Quebec. The people living there are extremely impoverished, and to make ends meet, they often engage in illegal smuggling activities. The two main characters in the film are single mothers who, driven by their circumstances, also join the ranks of smugglers.
