Google Fiber App for iPadApril 24th, according to Beijing Time, Google's remote control app for the iPad version of Google Fiber has been approved by Apple and officially launched on the iOS App Store. The Google Fiber service has already been rolled out to users in Kansas City, providing them with ultra-high-speed internet access. Although most Americans still cannot enjoy such a quality service, Google has already begun developing applications for it.However, this application is currently only available for the iPad and does not support the iPhone, and is limited to existing Google Fiber customers. This application is similar to the previous Android version of the Google Fiber app but has undergone some redesigns for iOS6. Users can still search for FiberTV programs and record them onto a digital video recorder, but now they can also stream directly to iPads and Android devices.Given that Google recently announced plans to expand its fiber service to Provo, Utah by the end of 2013 and Austin, Texas in 2014, the timing for launching the iPad app seems ripe.A Google Fiber spokesperson later stated that they are working on an iPhone app and hope to release it soon. The spokesperson also revealed that while Google plans to expand the coverage of its fiber network, it will continue to focus on providing better experiences for existing users in Kansas City.
