On June 9th, at Apple's WWDC, they introduced the new 3G iPhone. The iPhone is sold in bundles with telecom service providers, starting at a minimum of $199. The estimated actual selling price is $199 + $14.5/$25.5 per month * 24 months, or $199 + $14.9 * 18 months (with the first half year free), which totals to $547 or $467 (including telecom service fees). Moreover, it’s estimated that this setup makes it much harder to unlock the device.
