It has been confirmed that the iPhone is equipped with a built-in GPS chip.

The relevant chip solution was developed by a Californian company called The Irvine. This company acquired Global Locate for $223 million in July 2007, thereby gaining the capacity to accept orders from Apple. The 3G iPhone will better integrate Google Map and GPS, and add some new social functions. Meanwhile, some third-party service providers are ready to carry out relevant development and services.
