This GPS module, named locoGPS, uses the common SiRF Star III GPS positioning solution and connects to the iPhone via an iPod interface. The GPS software, which is currently under development, cannot yet provide real-time location navigation. It requires manual updates to display the current latitude and longitude, and it can be embedded into Google Maps for visualization. Fortunately, all of its software is open-source, so it can continue to be improved after its release. Currently, it needs to be used on a jailbroken iPhone, and it may also support the iPod touch in the future.
