Appleinsider reported that Apple will release an upgrade for its operating system, Mac OS X Tiger. This upgrade is expected to enhance audio playback across multiple Apple applications.
Testers involved with the latest pre-release version of Mac OS X have indicated that this upgrade will address audio playback issues in the following programs: iTunes, Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack, and QuickTime. It also improves Bluetooth file transfer, mobile phone synchronization, and mouse pairing issues.
After months of development, Apple has finally released this update, which comes in two versions: one for Intel platforms and another for PowerPC platforms—Mac OS X 10.4.7 build 8J2133 (Intel) and Mac OS X 10.4.7 build 8J133 (PowerPC). These upgrades require the system version to be Mac OS X 10.4.6, with file sizes of 130MB and 64MB respectively.
Furthermore, testers revealed that Apple has implemented the ability to save Adobe and Quark documents as AFP installable volumes, synchronize files and other data into .Mac format, and create chat rooms using iChat through the AIM protocol in this version.
In addition, other enhancements are mainly focused on PDF workflows in programs such as iCal and iPhoto, importing files into Keynote 3, ensuring proper spacing of icons when viewing on the desktop, and importing and clearing fonts in Apple's Font Book application.
According to the testers, Apple has recently completed the documentation for Mac OS X 10.4.7, which suggests that this upgrade will be released in the coming days.
