"The earliest" Apple phone

Just as Apple and Cisco were fiercely battling over the iPhone, we stumbled upon something interesting. It seems that if we really want to trace the patent rights of an "Apple phone," we might need to look further back than we imagined.

This design has been listed in the U.S. Patent Office since December 10, 1985. With this appearance, calling it an "Apple phone" should be uncontested, right? Moreover, the text describes it as: "A bitten apple logo, a registered trademark of Apple Computer Inc." This clearly indicates that the designer indeed created this phone specifically for Apple.
