Introduction to the plot of "The Happiness of the Eldest Brother":
On August 26th, at the 2009 China International TV & Film Program Exhibition, the first trailer for the urban commoner-themed TV series "The Happiness of the Eldest Brother," produced by Jiangsu Tian Di Zong Heng Film and Television Culture Investment Co., Ltd., was released. Fan Wei plays the lead male role of "the eldest brother" in this series.
It is reported that "the eldest brother" is a grassroots version of "Old Zhuang." He is a somewhat well-known foot therapist from Shuncheng in Northeast China who treats foot therapy as his career. He raised four younger siblings, and when they all became successful individuals, they looked down on their eldest brother's job of massaging people's feet and wanted him to change his way of living.
"The Happiness of the Eldest Brother" took three months to shoot, with scenes filmed in Huludao, Liaoning, and Beijing. As the director and producer of the series, Li Lu introduced that "The Happiness of the Eldest Brother" is not a traditional Northeastern comedy. The show not only showcases the local customs of Northeast China but also integrates modern fashionable elements from Beijing, making it a modern urban commoner drama full of life texture, profound themes, and a style that is both serious and humorous. The eldest brother is played by Fan Wei, who has portrayed many small character roles and vividly brings this representative of the common people to life. In Li Lu's words, this eldest brother is a grassroots version of Old Zhuang, and his every word and action is worth pondering and analyzing by the audience.
In addition to Fan Wei, "The Happiness of the Eldest Brother" also features many well-known actors such as Sun Ning, Meng Guangmei, Jin Qiaoqiao, Zhou Haodong, and Gao Yalin. Li Lu introduced that currently, "The Happiness of the Eldest Brother" is undergoing post-production, and it is expected to meet television audiences by the end of the year.
Li Lu revealed that in early August, the series had already been pre-purchased at a high price by CCTV. Currently, the series is undergoing tight post-production and is expected to be available for viewers at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
