At the award ceremony of the Longzhou Dragon Boat Race in Zengcheng, a volunteer suddenly fainted. The athletes on the podium immediately came down to help her, while other volunteers and staff rushed over as well. Many people were heartbroken when the beautiful volunteer fell to the ground.

The ceremonial volunteers for the 16th Asian Games were selected through strict standards and requirements during the "Asian Games Angel" national selection competition for professional ceremonial volunteers. After 40 days of intensive training, a team of 380 volunteers was formed to handle the ceremonies. Their mission is to perfectly and smoothly present 476 grand, enthusiastic, solemn, and magnificent award ceremonies for the hardworking athletes and for all sports enthusiasts around the world who are paying attention to the Asian Games.

Fan Jingli, the specially-appointed etiquette expert of the Asian Games Organizing Committee, an etiquette teacher at the Chinese Women's University, and the leader of the Beijing Olympics Sports Presentation and Award Ceremony Professional Project Group, stated that although the work intensity for the ceremonial volunteers at yesterday’s dragon boat race award ceremony was high, it did not exceed the intensity of their regular training. According to her, the ceremonial volunteer who fainted at the award ceremony yesterday experienced sudden physical discomfort, with no prior signs of any issues detected. "It is also possible that she had already been feeling unwell but continued to endure because she cherished this opportunity and valued her position," Fan added.
