Plot Summary:
The top Hong Kong triad boss, "Eight Taels Gold," succumbs to nasal cancer. Before his death, he entrusts his sworn brother "Seven Taels" (Mickey Wu) with the task of arranging for his adopted son, "Nine Taels Choy" Wong Kow-dai (Andy Lau), to take over the position. In reality, none of the factions are truly convinced or satisfied with this decision, but none dare to voice their dissent openly due to Eight Taels' influence and power.
