When the 1995 draft was over, people were sighing that this might be the worst class of rookies in a decade. Even though Brent Barry, with his skinny frame covered by a big jacket, flew from the free-throw line, it couldn't prove that he was really the white Jordan that people wanted. But the fact is, No. 1 overall pick Steve Smith averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds while shooting 45%+35%. The No. 3 pick,斯塔克豪斯, who claimed he could challenge Jordan, also put up 20+4+4 stats and became Philadelphia's scoring leader. Coincidentally, Philadelphia got the No. 1 pick again this year, so I really can't see what the point was for them to select this guy last year. Did they think Stackhouse would definitely draw the No. 1 pick? Actually, the best player so far has been Stoudemire. This guy not only nearly averaged 20+10 but also won a game against the Bulls. You have to know that last year's Bulls only lost 10 games in total. Looking at this year's draft, who cares about those negative off-court news? After the Red Auerbach picked Len Bias, who later died of a drug overdose, he decided never to gamble on such talented players again. But it's tolerable if players just fight off the court sometimes, right? At least this proves they are passionate men, not softies or anything. Speaking of softies, if Tim Duncan from Wake Forest University had entered this year's draft, I believe he would have been the No. 1 pick. There is a young man named Kobe Bryant who just graduated from high school this year and participated in the draft. Oh yeah, his dad is Joe, once a Philadelphia player. It's said that he used to dominate in the Italian league, and then came Kobe.
