At around dawn of March 9 in Beijing Time, in the just-concluded final of the men's 60-meter hurdles at the 12th World Indoor Athletics Championships in Valencia, Liu Xiang won the championship with a result of 7.46 seconds. This is the first world champion title in individual event that Liu Xiang won in an international indoor athletics competition, as well as the first gold medal that China won in the history of World Indoor Athletics Championships.
