French popular science writer Pierre Kohler revealed in his new book published on December 4 that Russian and American scientists have already tried making love in space within their own independent research frameworks, and the result is that only four sexual positions are suitable for use in a zero-gravity environment.
Kohler's new book is called "The Final Mission: The Mir Space Station, A Human Adventure." The book emphasizes that the topic of sex in space is taboo whether at NASA or at the Moscow Flight Control Center. However, Kohler cites a secret NASA report from a 1996 space flight in his book, pointing out that despite this, American and Russian scientists have conducted experiments with sex in space within scientific research frameworks. The American project designated as STS-XX was studying what positions could be used to make love in a state of weightlessness. All of this is just part of the mutually independent research plans by Russian and American space departments to study how humans can survive for years in space.
