The pharmaceutical cosmetics market in China began in 1998 when L'Oréal positioned its brand Vichy as "cosmetics sold only in pharmacies"; in fact, before this, there were already products with cosmetic approval numbers being sold in pharmacies, such as Fumanling Cream, but they were all single products and were not promoted under the concept of "pharmaceutical cosmetics"; similarly, Kangmeixin, a pharmaceutical cosmetics brand sold exclusively in pharmacies, started to open the pharmaceutical cosmetics market in 2003 with an acne product called "Acne Clear", and later successively launched a sensitive skin series and whitening series products.
