Three types of people are not suitable for liposuction

"Weight loss" is a timeless topic for women, and the methods of losing weight are countless. Liposuction for weight loss is a relatively advanced method. Relevant experts pointed out that three types of people should not undergo liposuction for weight loss.

According to Professor Tan Xindong, an expert in plastic surgery at Guangdong Armed Police Hospital, the three groups of people who are not suitable for liposuction weight loss surgery are: 1) obese people with heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, and blood function disorders;

2) People suffering from morbid obesity due to excessive endocrine or certain diseases;

3) Children under the age of 18, whose physical development has not been perfected and the number of fats in their bodies hasn't been fixed. If liposuction is done blindly, it's not only easy to rebound but will also destroy the growth cycle of children and endanger health.

It is understood that when traditional weight-loss methods such as exercise therapy, drug therapy, and hunger therapy do not work effectively, French cosmetic doctors proposed "liposuction for weight loss" in the early 1980s. Currently, this weight-loss method is popular in European and American countries because of its special efficacy. In recent years, this technology has also been introduced into our country. Liposuction for weight loss, with its advantages of short operation time, painless, fast results, and less likely to rebound, is gradually becoming a new favorite among the obese. However, many people, eager to reduce fat and without much knowledge about liposuction for weight loss, casually find a beauty salon for liposuction surgery. As a result, they cannot only not achieve the expected effect, but also experience uneven surgical wounds, skin necrosis, infection complications, etc., which harm their health. Professor Tan said that the success of liposuction for weight loss depends on the equipment, the technical skills of the operators, and the balance of the amount during the liposuction process. Experts suggest that consumers should carefully consider the hardware technology and personnel quality of the institution before undergoing liposuction for weight loss surgery. Otherwise, blindly doing liposuction surgery is indeed dangerous.

Professor Tan particularly reminded consumers that human fat exists between the skin and muscles. Overemphasizing the effect of thinness and removing too much or blindly sucking away fat is not beneficial to one's body. Liposuction for weight loss is limited to the subcutaneous enlarged cell fat layer. In fact, reducing to one-fifth of the original fat quantity can achieve the effect of slimming. Before liposuction, doctors will perform an ultrasound scan on the person coming for liposuction. This way, the thickness of the fat layer of this person can be clearly displayed on the screen, determining whether liposuction is feasible. Generally speaking, if the fat layer is within 2 centimeters, there is no need and liposuction cannot be performed. If it's between 3.5-4.5 centimeters, then surgery is necessary.
