Nowadays, more and more girls are paying attention to the charm of their eyes. As a result, many single-fold eyelid girls opt for double eyelid surgery, which makes them look spirited and pretty, adding a bit more confidence. However, some people who undergo double eyelid surgery end up with poor results, appearing artificial and losing their original charm. It is clear that not everyone is suitable for double eyelid surgery. There are several types of people who should not have double eyelid surgery.

(1) Round face type.

Some single-fold eyelid "apple face" girls have slightly squinting eyes when they smile. If their facial features are well-proportioned, it gives off a sweet feeling. Apparently, even without double eyelid surgery, this kind of beauty still exists, and doing the surgery is unnecessary, and may even lead to lifelong regret.

(2) Round-eyed individuals.

Round eyes themselves do not give off the impression of small eyes. Their vertical width exceeds the average person's eye width. If double eyelids are made, it may give off the impression of "upturned eyes."

(3) "Puffy eyes."

"Puffy eyes" appear swollen due to thick subcutaneous tissue deposits in the eye area. These eyes are already unattractive, and adding another eyelid fold would make the "puffy eyes" look even more redundant, so it's better to let nature take its course.

(4) "Goldfish eyes."

People with "goldfish eyes" have protruding eyeballs. If double eyelid surgery is done, it will make the eyeballs appear even more protruded, highlighting their ugliness, making the surgery counterproductive.

Who is suitable for double eyelid surgery?

Many people believe that double eyelid eyes appear big and spirited. Since Asians predominantly have single eyelids, cutting double eyelids has become the most common cosmetic surgery among Easterners. However, only those with long eye fissures, thin eyelid skin, and high nose bridges achieve the best results from this surgery.

A successful double eyelid surgery includes the following points: appropriate double eyelid width; the arc matches the upper eyelid arc and face shape; the incision scar is not obvious; the double eyelid line looks natural. Whether double eyelid surgery is successful or not depends not only on the surgeon's aesthetic perspective and plastic surgery techniques but also on the patient's eye shape, anatomical structure, and facial features. Experts in plastic surgery at Beijing Contemporary Women's Hospital remind everyone to go to a regular hospital for eye surgery to avoid adverse consequences.

Below, we introduce the types of upper eyelid morphology among our residents, as well as who is suitable for double eyelid surgery and who is not.

The eyelid shapes of our residents are divided into three types: single eyelid (single fold), double eyelid (double fold), and multi-layer double eyelid.

Based on the elasticity and looseness of the upper eyelid skin, they are divided into three types.

1. Energetic type: The upper eyelid skin has no looseness, good elasticity, and moderate subcutaneous fat, commonly seen in young people;

2. Weak type: The upper eyelid skin is loose, with poor elasticity and scarce subcutaneous fat, commonly seen in middle-aged and elderly people;

3. Super-energetic type: The eyelid skin is tight and shiny, with excessive fat under the eyes, presenting a swollen state, commonly known as "swollen bubble eyes," "bubble eyes."

Generally speaking, if there are no important internal organ diseases in the body, the spirit is normal, and someone born with single eyelids actively requests double eyelid surgery, they can all undergo double eyelid surgery. People with long eye fissures, thin eyelid skin, and high nose bridges achieve good surgical effects.

If one eyelid is double and the other is single, the surgery standard is based on the double eyelid side, which can make both sides symmetrical.
