What kind of eyes are suitable for double eyelid surgery?

The technical term for double eyelids is "double fold."
Generally speaking, single-fold eyes with thin and tight upper eyelids (pronounced 'jian', meaning eyelid), long and dense eyelashes, deeper eye sockets, and higher nose bridges are easier to operate on and the results are more noticeable. Conversely, eyes that are short and round in shape, with narrow and small eye fissures (referring to the width of the eye opening, which can be understood as the size of the eye), thick upper eyelids, loose and sagging skin, or protruding eyeballs, small eyeballs, shallow eye sockets, and flat nasal bridges are harder to operate on and the results tend to be less satisfactory.
Eyes that are short and round in shape, with narrow and small eye fissures, or severely protruding eyeballs and very small eyeballs, are not suitable for surgery at all.
Why are these types of eyes not suitable for double eyelid surgery?
Because double eyelid formation surgery has the effect of widening the eye fissure. If the eyeball itself is very small and the eye fissure is narrow and short, it is easy to end up with a "startled eye" appearance after surgery, which not only fails to enhance beauty but also magnifies the flaws of the eyes. Additionally, individuals with strabismus should not undergo surgery because increasing the eye fissure would make the strabismus more obvious. However, if the strabismus has been cured and proven to be fully corrected over a considerable period of time, double eyelid surgery may be considered. Furthermore, patients with ptosis (inability of the upper eyelid to lift) should not undergo simple double eyelid formation surgery; they need to first undergo levator muscle shortening or suspension surgery before performing the double eyelid surgery during the correction process.
