The Shier Tan Drifting Scenic Area is located on the golden tourist route from Guilin to Longsheng. The drifting river section is in the upper reaches of the Yi River in Lingui County, Guilin City, with its start and end points connecting to National Highway 321. The drifting end point is only 50 kilometers away from Guilin City, about 30 kilometers north to Longsheng, making transportation very convenient. The entire Shier Tan drifting journey is 9.5 kilometers long, passing through 66 river shoals, including 12 rapids. Among these rapids, the highest drop reaches 3 meters, with a total drop of over 80 meters throughout the course. With its winding curves and rapids, water splashing against rocks creates layer upon layer of water flowers. Rubber rafts toss, bounce, rise and sway between wave peaks and valleys, offering an unimaginably thrilling experience. Of course, there's also the狂欢 "water splashing festival" involving hundreds of people, where you can find the meaning of happiness in laughter and splashing.

On both sides of the Shier Tan river valley stand towering cliffs and terraced fields layered one after another. From the foot of the mountain to the top, lush and dense primary secondary forests are distributed. The average altitude within the scenic area ranges from 300 to 500 meters, with significant vertical climatic differences. The four seasons are distinct, and rainfall is abundant. During the peak summer months, the temperature here is 3 to 5 degrees Celsius lower than in the urban area of Guilin. The riverbanks consist of deep gray slate from the Cambrian system, with vibrant colors. Variously shaped boulders are scattered across the riverbed, forming steep banks, platforms, and pot holes, creating novel landforms. Numerous small waterfalls hang between the continuous cliffs on both sides of the canyon, presenting a serene and picturesque beauty that makes one feel as if they are in a fairyland.

The Shier Tan scenic area is situated within the Lingui water resources protection zone, where natural forests remain intact. Vegetation mainly consists of fir, bamboo, beech, and waxberry, interspersed with rare plants such as silver fir, cypress, and red bean fans, belonging to the evergreen broad-leaved forest belt. Here, winters are warm and summers cool, making it an excellent place for vacationing and relaxation.

At the end point of the Shier Tan drifting scenic area, there is a resort villa built, equipped with multiple large parking lots, tourist rest rooms, cold and hot water shower changing rooms, holiday hotels, local flavor restaurants, fish pond fishing, leisure sports grounds, and natural swimming pools, ensuring an extremely comfortable drifting trip!
