The Seven Stars (Cave) Scenic Area is located on the east bank of the Li River in Guilin, by the Xiaodong River branch of the Li River, 1.5 kilometers from the urban area. It gets its name from the Seven Stars Mountain and Seven Stars Cave, and is the largest comprehensive ecological scenic area in Guilin, covering an area of about 134.7 hectares. The green mountains, clear water, strange caves and beautiful stones here make it a veritable miniature of Guilin’s landscapes. It became a place of interest as early as the Sui and Tang dynasties, and is now a scenic spot recommended by the World Tourism Organization, one of the first group of AAAA scenic spots in China, a key national scenic spot, and the core scenic spot of Guilin. It has also passed the ISO14001 international environmental management system certification and the ISO9001 international quality management system certification. Moreover, over more than a thousand years, the four major religions in China – Buddhism, Taoism, Islam and Confucianism - have successively influenced this scenic area, leaving distinct marks of religious culture here and endowing the scenic area with unique "four-in-one religion" charm.
