A few years ago, just before the Spring Festival, I traveled alone on foot through western Sichuan. One day around noon, I passed through Wenchuan. I still remember having lunch at a small restaurant in the south of the city and drinking some glucose water to replenish my energy. I also washed my hair, which hadn't been cleaned for several days, at a barber shop by the bridge in the city center... The Wenchuan county town is not very large. It only took me two hours to walk from south to north, eating and washing my hair along the way. Thinking back to when I walked through Wenchuan then, I took some photos. I just found them on an external hard drive and have uploaded them here for everyone to take a look at what Wenchuan used to be like...
