The first thing we experienced was Kagoshima's most famous sand steam hot spring, which is not only something that doesn't exist in Hokkaido, but also the world's only natural sand steam hot spring. The bus quickly arrived at the beach of Ibusuki. Here, abundant hot springs gushed from the seabed, and the sand on the seaside beach was warm. We came to the boundary between the sea and the beach, and surprisingly, found it steaming. The tour guide told us that so-called "sand steam" involves burying the body in heated sand due to geothermal energy, using the heat and weight of the sand to remove fatigue. The effect of sand steam is 10 times better than directly soaking in a hot spring. This kind of sand bath has a history of more than 300 years in Ibusuki.
