All the 91 whole-blood samples submitted by the residents of Zhe Lai Village, the descendants of Roman legions, were found to be of Central Asian and West Asian lineage. This research finding will be published in the near future. With this, the mystery of the "lost Roman legion" has been completely solved. Professor Cheng said: "This result can not only confirm the origin of these blue-eyed fair-skinned people who appeared in inland China, but also provide a more comprehensive explanation for the more detailed information about that Roman legion over 2000 years ago."
