The Civil Aviation Administration deploys the civil aviation security work in 2008.

On January 23, the 2008 national civil aviation air defense safety conference was held in Beijing. Li Jiayang, the Party Secretary and acting director of the Civil Aviation Administration, attended the meeting and delivered an important speech. Director Li pointed out that it is necessary to understand the situation, improve understanding, overcome麻痹and slack thinking, and do a good job in air defense security; grasp the characteristics and rules of air defense security work, and ensure air defense security from three aspects: purifying the inside, ground security checks, and rectifying airport order; fully guarantee the safety of the Olympic Games, ensuring no personal injury caused by aviation safety reasons, no serious delays or serious blockages, and no events or problems that seriously damage the image of China's civil aviation. Director Li also reported on the four key tasks of the administration in 2008.

Meng Hongwei, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Security, attended the meeting and gave a speech. Wang Changshun, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Administration, presented a work report. Li Jian, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the General Administration, presided over the meeting. More than 90 people attended the meeting, including the principal leaders of each regional administration of civil aviation, leaders of some large airports and airports involved in the Olympics, responsible persons of relevant public security organs, leaders of major airlines, and relevant responsible comrades from the headquarters of the General Administration and the Ministry of Public Security.
