According to the Meteorological Bureau of Daocheng Tourism:

Due to the alternating effects of the Qinghai-Tibet high pressure and the sub-high pressure of the western Pacific, from August 6th to 20th, most areas of our state experienced a rare period of high temperature and little rain in history.

In the middle of August, the average temperature of the ten-day period in 18 counties within the state was 1.2~4.7℃ higher than the average value of the same period in previous years. Shiqu, Seda, Danba, Kangding, Luding, and Litang respectively broke the historical highest records of the same period; The total precipitation of the ten-day period in most areas was within 4 millimeters. Daofu and Yajiang only had trace amounts of precipitation, and Danba had no precipitation. Compared with the same period in previous years, it was 90%~100% less. Luhuo, Xindong, Daofu, Danba, Kangding, Yajiang, Batang, and Daocheng respectively set the historical lowest records for the same period.
