Sitting on a computer chair, you can feel as if you are touring the world's scenic spots and taking photos as souvenirs - this is virtual tourism. Currently popular among many white-collar workers, "virtual tourism" achieves online travel through reading and interactive experiences in virtual games, and also provides guidance for offline travel. Before the "May Day" long weekend, this fresh way of traveling has become a new choice for many travel enthusiasts whose budgets have shrunk.
Editing this section: Concept Definition
Definition of the concept of virtual tourism: The concept of virtual tourism (Virtual Tourism) was first translated from abroad. However, the development of virtual tourism in China is still immature, with relatively short research time, and there is no consensus on the definition of virtual tourism. But with the deepening of research, the scope and basic concepts of its definition are becoming increasingly clear. Xu Suning et al. (2001) were among the first to propose the definition of virtual tourism, believing that if tourist landscapes can be dynamically presented to people through the Internet or other media, allowing travel enthusiasts to choose their own tour routes, speed, and viewpoints according to their preferences, they can enjoy the beautiful scenery miles away without leaving home, which is what virtual tourism is all about. Xiao Zhaohui (2003), on the other hand, simply summarized virtual tourism as using virtual reality technology to digitally recreate scenery, enabling people to travel around the world from the comfort of their homes via the global Intelnet network. Jiang Huixian et al. (2005) pointed out that virtual tourism is built on the basis of real tourist landscapes, simulating or surpassing these landscapes to construct a virtual tourist environment, allowing tourists participating in virtual tourism to engage in virtual tourism activities as if they were actually present. Liu Enbo (2006) defined the concept of online virtual tourism from the perspective of the network platform and detailed its touring methods. Yu Ping (2008) divided the definition of virtual tourism into broad-sense virtual tourism and narrow-sense virtual tourism. Broad-sense virtual tourism refers to any process of obtaining knowledge and information about tourist attractions in a non-physical manner; Narrow-sense virtual tourism originates from virtual reality, referring to the use of various visualization methods including virtual reality to create realistic virtual reality tourist attractions, enabling users to gain sensory, rational, and other types of knowledge and information about tourist attractions.
