In fact, during a previous trip to Wuzhen, I did not leave with a particularly good impression. Because at that time, my preference for ancient towns was more focused on the relatively simple and bustling atmosphere of places like Xitang. In comparison, the so-called "prosperity" of Wuzhen's Xizha seemed somewhat out of place to me.
However, in this article, I will not talk about Xizha yet. Wuzhen is divided into four zones: East, West, South, and North, plus a central market area. The East zone was developed earliest in 2001, followed by the development of the West zone in 2003. The South and North zones have not been officially developed yet, making them the destination for curious travelers seeking something different. Indeed, people are increasingly disinterested in what we call tourist attractions.
The South zone is very close to the East zone. If you walk south along Changxin Street, you will reach the South zone. The bustling scene in the photos will quickly disappear within just dozens of meters. This prosperity is actually borrowed from the East zone.
I was still quite excited as I was finally about to reach the South zone, which was also my most anticipated destination before setting out.
