Mint, also known as "Yindan grass" in local dialect, refers to the dried whole plant of mint or other plants in the same genus under the family Lamiaceae. It usually grows in wetlands, riverbanks, and has creeping underground rhizomes. The whole plant has a fresh fragrance. Its leaves are opposite, flowers are small and light purple with labiate corolla, and it bears small dark purple-brown fruits after flowering. Mint, a local specialty, has strong bactericidal and antibacterial effects. Drinking it regularly can prevent viral colds and oral diseases, and keep breath fresh.
