Venice is a beautiful water city, built in the most unlikely place to build a city - on the water. The charm of Venice is always associated with "water". The winding waterways and flowing ripples make it seem like a romantic dream floating on the waves, its poetic beauty lingers on endlessly. This city once possessed the strongest human resources, material wealth, and power in all of Europe. The history of Venice is said to have begun in 453 AD; at that time, the local farmers and fishermen fled from the war-loving nomadic tribes, seeking refuge on this small island in the Adriatic Sea. Venice is dolphin-shaped, with a city area of less than 7.8 square kilometers, consisting of 118 small islands, and 177 canals crisscrossing them like a spider web. These islands and canals are connected by approximately 401 bridges of various kinds. The entire city is only connected to the Italian mainland peninsula by a single long causeway.
