Poshan Mountain and Doumen Bridge are the best places to view the natural reclining Buddha of Shenwan. First, climb to the top of Poshan Mountain and look across at the undulating hills on the opposite side. The two small hills next to Modao Island indeed form the basic outline of a reclining Buddha, but unfortunately, the sun is too strong and the hills are covered by a light mist, making it impossible to discern the features of the reclining Buddha. Then move to the top of Doumen Bridge and look across the water, where it strongly resembles a huge Buddha lying on Modao Island. The Shenwan Natural Reclining Buddha, a scenic spot in Shenwan, is about 800 meters long and 180 meters high, lying on Modao Island which covers an area of 10 square kilometers, with the Xijiang River winding around it, creating a picturesque scenery.
