The Shishan Sea Erosion Relic is located to the west of Shengshi Village, Shaxi Town, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. According to research by the late geography expert He Dazhang and others from the Guangdong Institute of Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Shishan Sea Erosion Relic is one of the two remaining sea erosion relics in Zhongshan. It belongs to the ancient coastal landform formed 5000 years ago due to crustal changes, with a geological structure of Cretaceous red sandstone gravel. The sea erosion cave, sea erosion cliff, and sea erosion platform of the Shishan Sea Erosion Relic are the most complete geological specimens among the existing sea erosion relics in the Pearl River Delta.
