The Ming and Qing Ancient Village of Tangwei is located in Tangwei Village, Shipai Town, Dongguan City. With the ancient city wall as the boundary, the total area of the whole "wei" (in Dongguan area, village is called "wei", and the prominent place near the pond is called "wei face") is 39565 square meters. In the existing ancient village of Tangwei of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there are about 268 ancient residences, 21 ancestral halls, 19 study rooms, 10 ancient wells, four city gates and 28 watchtowers. The layout of the Ming and Qing Ancient Village of Tangwei is reasonable. Composed of city walls, watchtowers, alleys, ancestral halls, study rooms, residential houses, ancient wells, ponds, and banyan trees, it forms a very distinctive cultural landscape of agricultural villages where clans live together.
