Weizhou Island, opposite to Beihai Silver Beach across the sea, is formed by accumulation of volcanic eruption. It is the biggest and youngest volcano island in China. The sea-erosion, sedimentation and stalactite landscapes on Weizhou Island are peculiar. The seawater along the coast is sapphire and clear. There are live corals and valuable marine products under the sea, which are magnificent and mysterious and various in species; the volcanic port in the south has peculiar and beautiful sea-erosion, and its beach is fascinating. You can pick up sea snails and shells while taking a walk. The GuiZhi GongBi and DiShui DanPing are two of the eight scenes in Beihai. The island is shaded by lush trees all year round and smells fragrant. The Sibopo Temple, Shengmu Temple and Catholicism architectures have their own characteristics. The islanders are hospitable, hardworking and simple, and keep the ancient style. In 1994, it was listed as a provincial level tourist resort.
