Guanxiang, also known as Yaxiang tree or Daughter fragrance, is a kind of arboreal Aquilaria plant in the Thymelaeaceae family. It is a second-level national protected plant. Guanxiang is the only tree named after Dongguan and has a long history. It was widely planted during the Song Dynasty and has always been a local specialty of Dongguan. In recent years, Dongguan city has paid great attention to excavating local specialties, promoted the propagation and extensive planting of Guanxiang as a symbolic plant. The long-lost Guanxiang will soon "fragrance" the land of Dongguan again. In 2003, Guanxiang was included in the first batch of ancient trees and famous woods in Dongguan city for protection - 50 Guanxiang trees located in Dalingshan Park are available for tourists to appreciate as one of the populations.
