On October 19, 2009, local time, in Kruger National Park, South Africa, an injured buffalo incredibly escaped from the hunt of three lions in an extremely thrilling scene. Witnesses reported seeing a buffalo lying near a bridge, with lions about 20 meters away from the buffalo. For about an hour, nothing happened; the lions were simply raising and lowering their heads. The buffalo tried to stand up but had difficulty doing so. After several attempts, the buffalo managed to get up, and a female lion launched an attack by jumping onto the buffalo's back in an attempt to bring it down. The buffalo struggled fiercely, and eventually, the lion ended up with an injured hind leg. The buffalo ran towards the road and collided with a car, forcing the lion to jump off. On the road, the buffalo crashed into another car. Two male lions approached the road and stopped not far away. The female lion attempted several more times to bring the buffalo down but was unsuccessful. This was the third attack on the buffalo.
