Gui Feng Pagoda is located on Gui Feng Mountain in Yuan Cheng, facing the confluence of the Dongjiang and Xinfeng Rivers. It was named after its location on a hilltop that resembles a giant turtle. The Gui Feng Pagoda was built in the second year of the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1132 AD), and belongs to the category of Buddhist pagodas. It has an external appearance of seven stories but contains fourteen levels inside - one bright and one dark level alternating. It is the only early Southern Song brick pagoda in Guangdong Province with a verifiable construction date. Ascending the Gui Feng Pagoda and leaning on its railings for a panoramic view, both the old and new city areas can be seen clearly. Now it has been developed into a tourist area, attracting a large number of Chinese and foreign tourists.
