Daypu is known as the "hometown of porcelain", and Gaopi is the earliest origin of porcelain in Daypu County. It is also the ceramic distribution center of the surrounding towns, so it is called "Porcelain Capital" and "Jade City". The production of special Gaopi porcelain in Daypu started to rise in the late Song Dynasty and has continued to develop while radiating and influencing the ceramic production in Guangde, Pingyuan, Yinjiang, and Zhourui around Gaopi. Gaopi porcelain has long enjoyed a good reputation and fame both at home and abroad.
