The national 2A-level tourist attraction. It is located in the Shihua Cave National Geopark, Fangshan District, Beijing, about 60 kilometers from the urban area of Beijing. It is characterized by cave landscapes and underground rivers, and is the only large-scale natural tourist attraction with both water and dry caves that is open in North China. It was discovered by coal miners in July 1991 and officially opened to the public in April 1992. It developed in limestone from the Ordovician period over 400 million years ago, and its cave space formed within a few million years. The altitude of the cave entrance is 207 meters with a relative height of 10 meters, and it is known as "the Underground Maze of North China".
