Day 1: Accommodation: Modern Resort Hotel; Visit: Xu Fu Waterfall, San Yin Spring, the first detention place of Zhang Xueliang, Miao Gao Platform, Qianzhang Rock; Eat: Jinxi Restaurant
Day 2: Visit: Grave of Chiang Kai-shek's mother, Former Residence of the Chiang family
LP has been on vacation at home these few days. She will be going back to work in a few more days and is currently contemplating where to take a short trip. Since I have to go to work, I urged her multiple times to quickly choose a destination and look up tips/strategies online.
LP procrastinated for many days before finally deciding on the Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area near Ningbo (we've already been to Hangzhou, Zhe West, and Qiandao Lake, so this time we chose from Zhe East closer to Shanghai). Including within Ningbo city, we prepared for a weekend two-day excursion.
The night before departure, I looked up some information about the scenic area online. I learned that the Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area includes attractions such as Xuedou Temple, San Yin Spring, Miao Gao Platform, and Qianzhang Rock, and all are included in a package ticket. Additionally, since we were already at Old Jiang's doorstep, the Former Residence of the Jiang family was also a must-visit. It's approximately 7-8 kilometers away from Xuedou Mountain. Therefore, our plan was to visit the Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area in the afternoon of the first day, the Former Residence of the Jiang family in the morning of the second day, then head to Ningbo in the afternoon, have dinner, and return to Shanghai after dinner.
With the time and location set, the next step was to choose the route. After checking with the GPS navigation system, the recommended route was indeed via the nearest Hangzhou Bay Bridge (although the toll is higher, both LP and I haven't been to the cross-sea bridge yet, so we were looking forward to it. Moreover, our travel itinerary was relatively tight, so we needed to save time).
On the route map, close to the destination, a hotel name caught my eye - Modern Resort Hotel, and it was right next to the scenic area. I immediately checked it on Ctrip and read reviews from netizens, which were mixed. ANYWAY, it's been a long time since we've rested in the deep mountains and old forests. The business room had twin beds with breakfast included (free internet access, perfect for our family of three plus my mother-in-law), and the post-discount price was just over 300 yuan, which was quite reasonable. So, I directly booked one night on Ctrip (as it turned out, my gut feeling was correct).
