The national 3A level scenic spot, located in the northwestern part of Miyun County, is 93 kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing. You can get there by going up Jing-Shun Road at Dongzhimen to Miyun, and then heading towards the Miyun Reservoir direction. It is an erosive pool tourist attraction formed when mountain streams flow through gullies. In the early decades last century, due to the large amount of summer precipitation in Beijing, flash floods carrying a great deal of sand and gravel eroded the riverbed rocks at an extremely high speed for a long time, and eventually formed a large number of pools. A great many tourists were attracted to come for sightseeing, and it was officially open to the public in 1984.
