The tourism website (www.51ttw.cn) introduces the eight scenic spots of Shanwei: Haifeng is one of the 13 revolutionary bases in the country, and the "Haifeng Red Palace and Red Square Site" is one of the first national key cultural relics protection units, a national patriotic education demonstration base, and one of the first patriotic education bases in Guangdong Province. The Red Palace was originally called the "Xue Gong", and in 1927, the county-wide workers', peasants' and soldiers' representative conference was held here to establish China's first workers' and peasants' red regime - the Haifeng Soviet government, and a mass rally of 50,000 people was held at the Red Square to celebrate enthusiastically. The site includes the Haifeng Peasant Movement Exhibition Hall, Peng Pai copper statue, the meeting memorial pavilion of the Second and Fourth Red Armies, the Dacheng Hall and the Five Generations Shrine, and the "stele corridor" engraved with inscriptions by state and party leaders.
The "Peng Pai Former Residence" is a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit and the cradle of the peasant movement. During the Eastern Expedition, Zhou Enlai and the Soviet advisor to the revolutionary army, Borotin, as well as General Galen, all stayed and worked here. Nearby are revolutionary sites such as De Qu Bookroom, the Banyan Tree, Chi Mountain Farmers' Association, the Haifeng County General Farmers' Association, the Haifeng County Farmers' Movement Training Institute, and the Haifeng Women's Liberation Association. Now it is equipped with Longshepu Square, which features two groups of statues, "Burning Land Deeds" and "Six Men Farmers' Association," among other tourist attractions.
The Red Palace and Red Square and Peng Pai Former Residence are organically combined into a beautifully scenic red classic tourism route, receiving an average of about 200,000 tourists per year.
