Xianling is located in Songlin Mountain, east suburb of Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province. It is the joint burial tomb of Gong Rui Xian Emperor, father of Emperor Shizong Jiajing of Ming Dynasty, and Zhangsheng Empress, mother of Emperor Jiajing. It is the most distinctive emperor's mausoleum in the long history of thousands of years in China. The construction of Xianling started in the 14th year of Zhengde of Ming (1519 AD) and was completed in the 45th year of Jiajing (1566 AD), lasting for 47 years.
