In early June 2008, in the Zuo Hai Park in Fuzhou City of Fujian Province, strange organisms of various sizes suddenly appeared on the lake. Their appearances were like green soft meat balls, with a layer of white star-shaped patterns on their surface. They could rapidly reproduce in a short period of time and would hide during hot weather. They would break apart when taken out of the water and after being exposed to the sun, they would turn into a paper-like substance. The movements of these monsters were unpredictable. The smallest ones were the size of steamed buns while the largest ones could grow up to one meter. Due to their terrible and disgusting appearance, the surrounding residents were very afraid and worried that they might be poisonous.
