The massive 5.12 earthquake stabbed a knife into the waist of China, this new giant. How could we not feel the pain? How could we not be saddened? Wenchuan, Beichuan, Qingchuan - Sichuan has lost three of its "Chuans." Which one remains? Is it Deyang or Dujiangyan? Nevertheless, the people of Sichuan cannot be crushed. They possess an incredibly strong will and survival instinct. They will lay their loved ones to rest, wipe the blood from their bodies, stand up, and rebuild a new Sichuan. After surviving such a great calamity, blessings are sure to follow.

Thankfully, today's Sichuan is not Tangshan of over thirty years ago. Moreover, there is the strong support from all provinces across the nation and the Chinese government. The Chinese Government's swift response and transparency towards the earthquake are unprecedented. Premier Wen Jiabao personally arrived at the frontlines of Wenchuan. Within three days, they mobilized 130,000 military and police personnel along with supplies to the disaster area. In the world today, only three countries can currently achieve this: the United States, China, and Russia. And the country that can dispatch hundreds of medical teams to the disaster area within three or four days may very well be only China. My American military comrades were deeply impressed by the People's Liberation Army’s forced march of eighty kilometers on foot in a single day while carrying heavy loads, as well as the parachute drop at an altitude of 4999 meters. Although there are still shortcomings and regrets during the rescue process, the perseverance of the Chinese people has already made the world take notice.
