Argument over playing games leads to girlfriend's death by strangling
The court investigation revealed that in April 2011, Mr. Shao developed a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship with Ms. Cao, and subsequently they started cohabiting. During this time, because Mr. Shao was constantly playing online games at home and had not been looking for work, the couple gradually began to argue.
On the afternoon of May 13th of the same year, while living in their rented apartment in Pingdi Street, another argument broke out between them. In a fit of anger, Mr. Shao strangled Ms. Cao with his hands until she passed out. Later, when he realized she was still breathing, fearing that "she might call the police," he then used a towel to strangle her neck, which resulted in Ms. Cao's death.
