At around 13:00 on the 17th, a van carrying 14 elementary school students collided with a bus on the road from Luyi county to Muzhuang township. One elementary student died on the scene. Of the other 13 elementary students, two were seriously injured but not in danger of losing their lives, and 11 sustained minor injuries. The drivers of both vehicles fled the scene.
According to the Luyi County Education Department, the 14 students are all from Beiguan Elementary School in that county. Beiguan Elementary School is a public school located in Luyi County. The school does not have a school bus; the vehicle transporting the students is a private vehicle. The injured students have been promptly sent to the hospital for treatment. The public security traffic police are investigating the accident, and the fugitive drivers are being pursued.
