Hangzhou Daily reported on April 2 that a strange event occurred yesterday in Qinxib Village, Weiping Town, Chun'an County: a hen at the home of villager Wang Farong laid an egg with a tail. This strange egg was a soft-shelled egg, and the yolk inside was vaguely visible. Strangely, there was a "tail" on the eggshell, a tail about 4 centimeters long coiled around the egg, as thick as a straw, with a rough surface and many wrinkles. Its color was the same as the surface of the egg, and the entire shape of the egg looked like a small tadpole, which was quite rare.

According to reports, during the formation of an egg, the yolk is formed first, then the thick egg white is conveyed, followed by the covering of thin egg white, and finally the egg is wrapped in a shell.

Experts analyzed that the "strange egg" with a tail might be due to interference during the formation of the eggshell. First, this deformed egg occurred when the hen was conveying the eggshell material through the oviduct and was interrupted due to being startled. When it returned to normal, the second part of the egg was formed. Then, it was stimulated again by external factors, and when it was conveyed for the third time, the third part of the egg was formed. Therefore, as the secretion gradually decreased, each segment of the strange egg became smaller than the previous one.
