On the afternoon of July 26, a disabled fruit vendor in Anshun City, Guizhou Province, was allegedly beaten to death during a local urban management law enforcement process.
According to a report by China News Service on July 28, the Publicity Department of the Anshun Municipal Committee introduced that six urban management staff involved in this incident were under police investigation.
At 3:00 am on the 27th, the deceased's family agreed to conduct an autopsy on the body. At 6:00 am, experts from the Guizhou Provincial Procuratorate and the Provincial Department of Public Security had completed some of the autopsy items. According to Yunnan Information Daily, the deceased was named Deng Qiguo, 52 years old, from Banai Village, Maodong Township, Puding County, Anshun City. On the afternoon of the 26th, the city management was conducting work in the Xixiu District of Anshun City. Because Deng Qiguo was disabled and could not run away in time, he was caught by the city management officers and beaten until he fell down.
The police then controlled these two city management officers. After the 120 ambulance arrived, it was confirmed that Deng Qiguo had died on the scene. Family members of the deceased then came to the scene and clashed with the police. During the conflict in the afternoon, dozens of people were injured, and some were injured by unknown explosives, with more than 30 injured in total.
