A young man walked into a barber shop to get a haircut. He asked, "How long will I have to wait for a haircut?" The barber looked at the customers in the shop and said, "About two hours." The young man left.
A few days later, the same young man came back for a haircut. As soon as he entered, he asked, "How long will I have to wait for a haircut?" The barber glanced at the line of customers and said, "About three hours." Again, the young man left.
A week later, the young man returned and asked once more, "How long will I have to wait for a haircut?" The barber, seeing that the shop was already full of customers, replied, "About four and a half hours." Once again, the young man left.
The barber turned to a friend in the shop and said, "Hey, Bill, follow that guy and see where he goes. He always comes in to ask how long he'll have to wait for a haircut, but he never actually sticks around."
Not long after, Bill came back into the shop, laughing hysterically. The barber asked, "Where did he go after leaving here?" With his head thrown back and tears streaming from his eyes, Bill managed to say through laughter, "To your house!"
