Local rumors claimed that Hu Deli was being followed and monitored while with his mistress in a hotel room, and after the matter was exposed, he "felt too ashamed to face others and chose to jump off the building to commit suicide." Some people who knew Hu introduced that Hu Deli was indeed being followed when he went to the hotel, but whether it was a suicide has not yet been determined.
Regarding the local rumors of suicide, the Public Security Bureau of Chengde City also denied them.
